they had honest joe t shirts they rolled out with this comment and a picture of joe biden. you've seen this do this, take comments out of context and run with them. they did that with the "you didn't build that" comment from president obama. i don't know how far it goes. it's a news cycle we find something to talk about every single day and it's hard to believe this will actually last. i do think something will come up in the debate, i imagine romney will quote joe biden saying the last four years haven't been so great, and ryan's 30% comment will come up tonight or debates in the coming weeks. >> my take on biden gaffes, they're no harm so, therefore, no foul. the republicans have been caught saying very serious stuff on tape they didn't want anybody to hear. these aren't mistakes in public. it's when you're caught you don't want anybody to know about except the chosen few who gave 50,000 bucks to hear you. here's a tape of paul ryan saying 30% of americans want a welfare base, they want to live off the hog, basically. sounds like mitt romney's comments about 47%. >> today

we've seen the example of joe biden on the trail, joe biden being very smooth, trying to relate and be charming, charm offensive with the female crowd, hang out with the biker ladies. we saw that picture. from a political perspective is he the obama camp's secret weapon or their biggest headache? >> probably a little both. definitely a headache in terms of saying things like the middle class has been buried over the last four years, but in terms of their charm offensive he's somebody who they believe can relate well to working class folks, white working class folks pap tour of delis and diners and places, lunch counters, where working folks are going to eat in the middle of the day. in particular, though, there's a certain set of women i like to call them the medicare eligible set, 65 and over and certainly a little younger than that who obama has had a lot of trouble with. he's got a huge lead among women overall but as women are older, they are less likely to be in his camp. mitt romney actually leading in that 65 and over column by 48% to 43% in the gallup poll in august. joe biden,

the difference between the ryan/romney tape and what joe biden said, you can feel joe biden speaking for a palpable love. hes had has a love and admiration for the average working person whereas romney and ryan showed a disdain, make it 30, 47%. people who want to be president of the united states don't typically dislike a large swath of the american people. >> congresswoman, you're out there talking to people all the time. what has been the impact -- i think 47% of the line for romney is going to go right through november. >> i think so, too. the poe yet mayo angelou said it best, if people show you who they are, you should believe them. we need to have a president who fights for the middle class and i think that's the clear contrast that we will see on the debate stage tonight. >> what about next week? this could be the battle of the century but next week we have the light heavyweight. you have biden against ryan. what do you think? >> that's going to be a really clear contrast as well. joe biden has fighting for the middle class and for working families for his entire career for m
